FEP
In the [FEP] tab, you can select the network type and the parameters for the communication with the superior device. This tab is enabled only when the ‘FEP (CIMON-Net Server)’ option in the [Features Of Node] tab is selected.
The port number of the FEP Ethernet starts from UDP 1609 (Port No. 0).
(1) ENET (TCP/IP)
Configures the FEP Ethernet communication. You can bring up the [CIMON-ENet (TCP/IP)] window when you press the [COM Port] button.
Item | Description |
Port | You can assign a port number for TCP/IP communication between the Server and the Client, in range of 0 to 99. The port number of the FEP Ethernet starts from UDP 1609 (Port No. 0). The same port number must be assigned to both Server and Client. |
Line Redundancy | Select this option is the FEP Server has more than two IP addresses and use one as a back-up. If this option is selected, the Secondary IP address must be assigned. This option must be selected when FEP Client uses line redundancy. |
Primary IP Addr. | Assign the Primary IP Address of FEP Server. |
Secondary IP Addr. | Assign the Secondary IP Address of FEP Server. This field is enabled only when the ‘Line Redundancy’ option is selected. In this case, this field must be filled in with the secondary IP address. |
Do not respond to unregistered nodes | Select this option to specify the nodes for the FEP communication. |
Use dynamic IP address or domain name | Select this option to connect the network with the domain name (DNS). |
Use packet encryption | Select this option to encrypt the data exchanged through FEP. |
Key, Key Confirm | Enter the password for the packet encryption. You can enter the password from 8 to 16 characters. The password is case-sensitive. Only the alphanumeric and the special characters are allowed. |
(2) CNET (RS232C/Modem)
Configures the FEP Serial communication. You can bring up the [CNET Server] window when you press the [COM Port] button.
CNET is a protocol for the short-distance communication. The CNET communication which exceeds the 10m is not recommended.
Item | Description | |
COM Port | Assign the Serial port. You can assign from COM1 to COM32.
Baud Rate | Assign the baud rate of the Serial communication. You can assign 300, 600, 1200, 9600, 19200, 38400. The selected baud rate must be same as the baud rate of Client.
Parity | Parity is a bit added to the data, for the error-checking. There are two types of parity; Even and Odd. You can also choose not to add a parity bit to the data.
None | Does not add a parity bit to the data.
Even | Adds a parity bit to the data to make the number of “1” in the data becomes even. For example, if the 8-bit data is ‘0110 1000’, the parity bit becomes ‘1’.
Odd | Adds a parity bit to the data to make the number of “1” in the data becomes odd. For example, if the 8-bit data is ‘0110 1000’, the parity bit becomes ‘0’.
Data Bits | 7 Bits | Has a slightly faster communication speed than the ‘8 Bits’. However, an error occurs with the Korean data. |
8 Bits | Has a slightly slower communication speed than the ‘7 Bits’. If you have Korean in the tag name or data, select this option to prevent the error.
Stop Bit(s) | Stop Bit is a bit to divide the Serial communication data in 1-byte length. You can select 1 or 2 stop bits.
1 Stop Bit | Uses 1 bit to indicate the end of the 1-byte data.
2 Stop Bits | Uses 2 bits to indicate the end of the 1-byte data.
Use Check-Sum | Adds check-sum data, which is one of the methods to detect an error, to the data. Be aware that the Check-sum may not be able to detect the errors.
Use CTS/RTS | A feature to control the data flow. RTS is a signal that the data can be received. CTS is a signal that the data can be sent. It is recommended to use this option to prevent the data conflict and loss. |
CNET(RS232C/Modem) allows the users to exchange data from the remote site, using the modem.
Item | Description |
Use MODEM | Select this option to enable the configuration field. |
Modem Initialization Command | This field can be left blank unless the initialization command is necessary |
No. Of Response Rings | Assign the number of rings to be answered automatically. You can assign from 1 to 10 rings. |
