Features of Node
In the [Features of Node] tab, you can determine the role of the UltimateAccess Web in the network system. You can assign one of the provided functions to the UltimateAccess Web; Client, Primary Server, Secondary Server and Stand-Alone.
Item | Description | |
Function | Stand-Alone | Assigns the UltimateAccess Web as a sole Server. When you select this option, all functions and data for the system operation can be managed in the UltimateAccess Web. You can use CIMON-Net to provide tag data to the superior system. (FEP) |
Primary Server | This node type includes all of the functions of Stand-Alone and also provides a real-time database to the other system (UltimateAccess Web Client). When you select this option, ‘Server Redundancy’ option is activated. When the ‘Server Redundancy’ option is selected, UltimateAccess Web operates as the Active node.
Secondary Server | This node type only available in case of the ‘Server Redundancy’. The Secondary Server has an identical specification as the Primary Server and used as a substitute of the Primary Server. The Secondary Server is usually operated as Standby node. However, if the Secondary server is executed before the Primary Server, it can be operated as an Active node. When this node type is selected, ‘Server Redundancy’ option is activated and selected forcibly. You cannot deselect the ‘Server Redundancy’ option.
Server Redundancy | Select this option when the server is redundant; Primary Server and Secondary Server. When the Secondary Server is selected, this option is activated and selected forcibly.
Line Redundancy | Select this option when there are more than two IP addresses (two Ethernet cards) in the PC, and use one of the IP addresses as a back-up. If this option is selected, the ‘Secondary IP address’ in the [Local Setup] tab must be filled in. In case of the Stand-Alone node, you cannot use this option unless the UltimateAccess Web operates as FEP or View/Control Server.
FEP (CIMON-Net Server) | Select this option to transmit the tag data to the other SCADA through CIMON-Net. You can use Ethernet or RS-232C (Modem) as a communication method. If this option is selected, you must configure the [FEP] tab. FEP communication uses port number ‘UDP 1609 + Value assigned to the Port’. |
