8.3.1 Settings

The Edit Control can be added to the graphic page by double-clicking or drag-and-drop of the object from [Draw] – [Library] – [Window Control]. You can also drag-and-drop the object from the Toolbox to the graphic page.

You can configure the Edit Control by double-clicking the object or selecting [Edit Box] in the [Object Config] window. Action, tooltip, and the security can be configured in this window.

Item

Description

Tag Name

Assign a tag to store the value entered to the Edit Control. You can also click  icon to select a tag. You can register a digital, analog and string tag.

Password

Select this option to secure the data that the user has entered. When you check the option and enter text, it will be displayed as ‘****’ in the Edit Control object.

Multiline

When you select this option, you can change the line with ‘Enter’ key.

If you have selected ‘Password’ option, you cannot use ‘Multiline’ option.

Auto line break

This option is enabled only when the ‘Multiline’ option is selected. ‘Auto line break’ option automatically breaks the line when the entered text exceeds the size of the Edit Control object.

If this option is not checked, the text exceeding the size of the object does not move to the next line.

Border

When this option has been enabled, the border surrounds the object.

Display Initial Text As

Write a text to display at the initial state of the Edit Control object.

(2)    Tooltip

String

You can enter a string, tag, and operation expression in the field. This is used to display a string in runtime when the cursor hovers on the object.

 

You cannot use assignment statements or subroutines. When you enter a string, the text must be located between the double quotation marks (“ ”). The text without double quotation marks is recognized as a tag.

Security Level

This option is to limit the authority according to the user’s security level. You can assign a value from 1 to 100. Lower level indicates the higher authority.

Select User Group

Selects a user group who can use the Edit Control object.

Use User Group

Determines using the user group.
