Alarm Setting - Analog Tag

(1)    Alarm Type

Select the analog alarm condition among three types.

Item

Description

Value

The alarm occurs according to the analog tag value’s boundary value.

Deviation

The alarm occurs according to the assigned target value and the difference between the tag value and target value.

ROC

The alarm occurs according to the rate of change in tag value.

(2)    Alarm Configuration

Item

Description

Enable

Enable or disable the alarm operation.

Hysteresis

When the analog value changes around the setting value, it may cause the repetitive occurrence of the alarm. To prevent this situation, assign the sensitivity of the alarm. The alarm will occur only when the value exceeds the setting value and the hysteresis value. Also, the alarm will be cleared only when the value is less than the hysteresis value subtracted from the setting value.

Delay-Time

You may assign the delay time of the alarm in seconds. If the alarm is turned OFF in the delay time, it is not assumed as an alarm. You can assign from 0 to 99999.9 seconds.

Level

Assign the alarm level. You can assign from 1 to 15 grade. (In case of UltimateAccess Web Version lower than 3.04, 1 to 8 grade) In the [Alarm Configuration] window, you can output the specific alarm according to the level.

Zone

Assign the location of the digital alarm. You can assign the alarm zone from A to P. In the [Alarm Configuration] window, you can output the specific alarm according to the alarm zone.

  • Example of Hysteresis

The tag value has changed from the Lo area to normal area as shown below. However, since the value did not exceed the hysteresis value, the alarm state does not change.

In the figure shown below, the tag value has changed from the Hi area to the normal area. Since the value exceeded the hysteresis value, the Hi alarm will be cleared.

(3)    Value Alarm

Assigning the boundary value as a criterion, the alarm occurs when the measured value is greater or less than the boundary value.

HiHi

Item

Description

HiHi

An alarm which occurs when the measured value is more than or exceeds the Hi-Hi boundary value.

Alarm

HiHi

A fiducial value of HiHi alarm. HiHi alarm occurs when the tag value is more than or exceeds the boundary value.

Included

When this option is selected, it indicates that the HiHi alarm will occur when the tag value is same as the boundary value or more. If the option is deselected, it indicates that the HiHi alarm will occur when the tag value exceeds the boundary value.

On Label

Enter the label which will appear on the HiHi alarm. You can check the label at the ‘Alarm Description’ option in [Format] tab of [Alarm Summary] window.

On Action

You can assign an action when the alarm occurs.

Use Comment

When you select the option, […] button is activated, and you may use the comment table.

(4)    Deviation Alarm

According to the difference between the tag value and target value, the alarm occurs.

Major Dev

Item

Description

Major Dev

An alarm which occurs when the measured value exceeds the range of major deviation value.

Alarm

Target

Assign the value which will be the criterion of the Deviation Alarm. This value is used as the common target value of the Major and Minor Dev Alarm.

Major Dev

Assign the value to turn on the Major Dev alarm. When the difference between the tag and target value is greater than the value assigned to Major Dev, the alarm will occur. The value assigned to the ‘Major Dev’ must be greater than the value assigned to the ‘Minor Dev’.

On Label

Enter the label which will appear on the Major Dev alarm. You can check the label at the ‘Alarm Description’ option in [Format] tab of [Alarm Summary] window.
