Power consumption

 

When selecting SMPS and POWER for PLC-S power supply, please refer to the relevant table and configure the module. Up to 10W, including PLC-S CPU's own power consumption and expansion module power consumption. Refer to the table below and design the configured PLC-S module power sum not to exceed 10W. For SMPS, select the PLC-S power consumption considering the safety factor.

  • Up to two CM3-SP16EOR modules and up to four CM3-SP16EDR modules can be used. The recommended SMPS capacity is 24VDC 20W.

 

The maximum capacity of the 3.3V generating regulator in the CPU module is 10W.

 

Use 10W as the main power source on the CPU module and expansion module. Therefore, the sum of the main power of the CPU module and the expansion module must not exceed 10W.

Sub power is not included in 10W because it is not supplied directly from the CPU module.

 

The total power consumption of the PLC system (CPU Module + Expansion Module) is as follows.

Total power consumption = sum of main power consumption / 0.7 + sum of sub power consumption

(Divide by 0.7 in calculation because the output power efficiency is 70% compared to the power supplied to the regulator.)

 

The sum of the main power consumption determines whether the CPU can provide sufficient power to the expansion module, and the total power consumption can determine the power supply specifications of the system.
