Menu Bar and Toolbar

Interface
The Menu Bar and Toolbar contain Canvas' main commands and insertable objects. The Menu Bar is not customizable, but users can drag and drop sections of the Toolbar to order and format the sections of icons. The available toolbars are Main toolbar, Drawing Tools, Arrange Tools, Connection Tools, Project Tools, and Font Tools.
File Menu, Edit Menu, and Main Tools
The File menu, Edit menu, and Main Tools allow users to edit the project directly. Users can modify entire projects, make changes to objects inside the project, and change the magnification of the designer screen.
Find and Replace
Click Edit > Find and Replace or press the hotkey [Ctrl F] to open the Find and Replace window as displayed on the right:
Users can search for text or colors using the methods of Regular Expression, Case Sensitive, and Whole Word and replace them if desired. The location of the search can be filtered by the Scope Type of Global or Pages and the Search Scope of Object Properties, Page Properties, Project Properties, Scripts, Tag Database, I/O Devices, Data Server Devices, Alarms, Data Loggers, Security, Scheduler, and Translations.
The user enters text into the Search For field and presses [Enter] or the Search button to populate the table. Clicking Previous or Next opens the searched occurrence of the given text in the table's order.
The user enters text into the Replace With field and presses Replace Selected or Replace All to convert the selected or all occurrences of the given text to the new given text.
View Menu
The View menu allows users to toggle visibility for toolbars and panes, change the magnification of the designer screen, and edit grids and guides.
For example, users can control the visibility of each toolbar by clicking View > Toolbars > Main Toolbar, Drawing Tools, Arrange Tools, Connection Tools, Project Tools, or Font Tools and checking the boxes.
Insert Menu and Drawing Tools
The Insert menu and Drawing Tools allow users to create objects and load images on a page. These objects include shapes, text, fields, buttons, Trends and Sparklines, Alarm Summaries, and Data and Audit Log Tables.
Each object will have unique Basic Properties, Appearance, Transform, and Actions panes dedicated to them. More information can be found in Canvas Basics.
Arrange Menu and Arrange Tools
The Arrange menu and Arrange Tools allow users to change the orientation, positioning, grouping, transformations, layer visibility, and layer locking of objects. Some of these options include ordering to change the z-index of objects to send them forward or backward, alignment to certain anchor points, distribution of spacing, and rotation or flipping.
These tools may also be accessed by right-clicking an object and selecting the same option in the right-click menu.
Tools Menu, Connection Tools, and Project Tools
The Tools menu, Connection Tools, and Project Tools allow the user to launch the Simulator, connect to external devices, set up I/O and Data Server devices, edit scripts, recipes, alarms, data logs, schedules, and translations, manage users and permissions, and use the Cross Reference tool.
Font Tools
Font tools allow users to adjust text that may appear in the project. Users can change the font, size, color, text style, and alignment. These can also be adjusted in the Appearance tab in any object that contains text.
Help Menu
The Help menu allows users to open the online and offline helpfiles and display all currently installed Canvas versions.
