19.2.2 VNC Server Password Configuration
| This feature is supported in Xpanel v2.53 and above. The default password is ‘cimon’. |
In the Xpanel v2.53 and above, it is possible to set a password to prevent an unauthorized VNC connection.
Setting the password is only available on the VNC Server. Also, to set the password, a physical keyboard should be connected to the Xpanel device.
Please refer to the following steps to configure the password.
VNC Server Password Configuration |
a) Go to Xpanel device’s desktop screen.
b) Select [My Device] – [Xpanel] – [Bin] and double-click the “vncconfig” file.
c) When the [VNC Server Properties (User-Mode)] window appears, select [VNC Password Authentication] option and click the [Configure] button.
d) Enter the password in [VNC Server Password] dialog box and press [OK].
e) Press [OK] button in the [VNC Server Properties (User-Mode)] window.
f) In XpanelDesigner, select [Online] –[Run Remote Control Viewer] and the following dialog box will appear. If it does not show up, please check if the VNC Server is activated.
g) Enter the target device’s IP and press [Connect]. Then, the [Vnc Authentication] window will appear as below.
h) Enter the password that was configured from the target device (VNC Server) and the viewer will appear as shown below.
