Registering CIMON Canvas as a Starting Program

Users can configure CIMON Canvas to run automatically when booting up Windows. For Windows 7 and above, there are two methods as shown below.

Windows 7 and Above Method #1

  1. Right-click on the Canvas.exe application > click Send to > Desktop (create shortcut).

  2. Then, you can either open the Startup window and press the [Windows] + [R] keys to open the Run window. Enter “shell:startup” in the search field and click OK.

  3. Or open the File Explorer window and type “Startup” in the address bar, then press enter. You will be taken to the Startup folder as shown below.


  4. Drag and drop or cut and paste the shortcut icon for CIMON Canvas into the Startup folder.

Windows 7 and Above Method #2

  1. You can either open the Control Panel > click System and Security > Administrative Tools > double-click Task Scheduler.

  2. Or search “Task Scheduler” using the Windows search feature > click Task Scheduler.

  3. Click Create Basic Task… on the upper right side of the Task Scheduler window to open the Create Basic Task Wizard window.


  4. On the Create Basic Task Wizard window in the Create a Basic Task section, type “Canvas” in the name field > click Next.

  5. On the Trigger section, click When I log on > Next.

  6. On the Action section, click Start a program > Next.

  7. On the Start a Program section, click Browse… > select the location of the “CIMON Canvas.exe” > click Next.

  8. On the Finish section, click Finish.
