CIMON Canvas is software that allows users to create projects that can be downloaded to CIMON’s HMI, Xpanel. You can download any version of the software from the CIMON website (http://www.cimon.com).

  • Before you install CIMON Canvas, check for the software version compatible with your product.

  • A project created in a higher version cannot be executed in a lower version.

In order to use the project properly, please check if a model is compatible with the software version. Please see below for Xpanel models and their non-applicable versions.

Installation Procedure

  1. To download CIMON Canvas, go to the CIMON website (http://www.cimon.com), and register for an account if you have not already. Make sure to be logged in before proceeding.

  2. Click Download at the top-right > CIMON Canvas in the middle of the webpage.

  3. Or navigate to Support at the top > Click Archive from the list. You may set the filters by product or category, or even search by keywords to find the version of CIMON Canvas you desire.

  4. Click the download file at the bottom of the page.

  5. Unzip the downloaded file to a directory of your choosing. Run the MSI installer file by double left-clicking.


  6. Click Next to continue with the CIMON Canvas Setup Wizard installation process.

  7. Read the End-User License Agreement. You must accept the agreement to continue the installation. Click the I accept the terms in the License Agreement checkbox > Next.


  8. Specify the location of CIMON Canvas and click Next. If you have not changed the path, the software will be installed to C:\Program Files\CIMON\ by default. However, the default pathway may differ depending on the version of CIMON Canvas.


    Currently, versions 1.0.0 and above are installed to C:\Program Files\CIMON\ by default, however, this is subject to change in the future.

  9. The Canvas Setup Wizard will ask you to choose which parts of the installer you wish to include. By default, all options will be selected for the optimal experience. Click Next after you decide on your selections.

  10. Now, the CIMON Canvas Setup Wizard is ready to install CIMON Canvas. Click Install to begin the installation.


  11. Click Finish to complete the CIMON Canvas installation.

  12. Launch Canvas.exe to check if the installation was successful.
