Checking the Operation
Run the Simulator by clicking the
icon on the toolbar. Adjust the value of the tracked tag using the simulator and verify that the trend updates with the new values.
Utilizing Configuration Buttons
Once a sufficient amount of data has been collected, click the Pause button to stop new data collection. Once the Trend has been stopped, use the Date Time Span Slider on the bottom of the trend to adjust the section of the trend that is in view. Note that the trend now shows a small window of data collection in greater detail.
Similarly, the Value Span Slider can be used to adjust the scaling of the y-axis.
Users can also zoom in on the trend by pressing the
icon or zoom out by pressing the
icon. These buttons function by increasing or decreasing the maximum amount of time on the x-axis. Zooming out the trend allows the user to view the trend across multiple days, while zooming in allows the user to view the trend’s movement over the span of a minute. These functions are heavily tied to the usage of the Date Time Span Slider to select sections of the trend to zoom in on or select a range to zoom out of.
With a smaller time frame selected, users can also utilize the Time Span Legend to cycle through time frames at the desired span.
