XpanelDesigner is a software that allows users to create projects for Ativa's Xpanel HMI. You can download any version of the software on the CIMON website (www.cimon.comfrom the Ativa Downloads page (http://www.ativa-automacao.com.br/downloads/).

NOTE

- When you install XpanelDesigner, check for the software version compatible with your product.

- A project created in a higher version cannot be executed in a lower version.

- To establish a connection between your PC and HMI, you must download a separate program according to the following OS versions:

- If your OS version is Windows XP, ‘ActiveSync’ is required.

- If your OS version is Windows 7 and above, the ‘Windows Mobile Device Center’ is required.

- You can download each program on the Microsoft website (www.microsoft.com).

In order to use the project properly, please check if a model is compatible with the software version. Please refer to below for Xpanel models and their non-applicable versions.

Installation of Xpanel DesignerXpanelDesigner

Follow the steps below to download the XpanelDesigner.

a)      You must have an Ativa account to download the application. Go to the CIMON Ativa download website (http://www.cimonativa-automacao.com), and register for an account. Make sure to be logged in before proceeding.

b)     Go to [Download] on the top right > [ATVXEL DESIGNER] in the middle of the webpage.

c)      Or navigate to [Support] at the top > Set the filter as shown below, then you can easily find the list of software. Find the Xpanel Designer version you wish to download.

d)     Click the download file at the bottom of the page.

e)     Execute the installer file on the directory.

f)      Wait until the Installshield program is executed. It may take a while depending upon the system environment.

g)     Read the End .br/downloads/), then click “log in or sign up“ to create an account:

c) Fill out the account information, then press “Send“.

d) You should now be logged in to your new account and brought back to the downloads page. Look for the newest version of XpanelDesigner, then click “Download“:

e) In your downloads folder, right-click the setup file, then choose “Run as administrator“:

f) A prompt may appear asking “Do you want to allow this app from an unknown publisher to make changes to your device?”. Choose “Yes“.

g) Wait for the InstallShield Wizard to complete loading. Do not press any buttons on this screen.

h) Read the End-User License Agreement. You must accept the agreement to continue the installation. Select a the button labeled ‘Accept’ and press [Next].

h)     Specify the location of Xpanel Designer and press [Next] ‘I accept the terms of the license agreement’, then press “Next“:

i) Choose an install location for XpanelDesigner, then press the “Next“ button. If you have do not changed change the path, the software will be installed in ‘Cto “C:\CIMON\XpanelDesigner “Version”’ as ATIVA_XPANEL” by default. The default path may differ depending on the version of Xpanel Designer.

  • Xpanel Designer 2.50 and below versions are installed in ‘C:\CIMON\Xpanel’ by default. If you install the higher version upon the lower version, the program will automatically upgrade the software version.

  • From Xpanel Designer 2.52 version, the software is installed in the separated path.

i)       Now it is ready to install the software. Press [Install] XpanelDesigner and your computer’s hard drive configuration.

j) The InstallShield Wizard is now ready to install XpanelDesigner. Press the “Install“ button to begin the installation.

j)      A ‘Font Select’ k) The ‘FONTSELECT’ window will appear as after the installation starts. Fonts in the PC Available fonts are listed in on the left side of the window. You may add or except the selected fonts for using in the project.

k)     Press l) Once installation is complete, press the [Finish] button to end exit the Xpanel Designer installationinstaller.

lm)        Launch the Xpanel Designer From the installation directory, launch XpanelDesigner.exe to check if the installation is successfully done.

n) Verify that XpanelDesigner is able to open. You may receive a prompt from Windows Defender Firewall. If this happens, select your desired settings, then click “Allow access”. It is recommended that you choose “Public networks“. If you are unsure which settings to choose, please contact your system administrator for help.
