Communication Setup: Xpanel

Create a new device

To create a new device, go to [Tools] β†’ [I/O Devices] or click the icon on the main toolbar.

I/O Device Name: Give a device name. This name will be used in the tag configuration window of the database accompanied by the β€˜Station Name’.

Select a device type

After selecting the [Ok] button on the previous step, the β€˜Serial Communication Configuration’ dialog box will be popped up as shown in the following picture.

In this window, select β€˜LSIS Master-K H-Series PLC Cnet’ as the β€˜Device Type’ and configure the appropriate communication parameters. Ensure that those parameters are matched with the device’s configuration. See the Communication Configuration section for more information.

Create a station

Move to the [Station] tab of the β€˜Serial Communication Configuration’ dialog box. In this dialog box, all the connected PLC stations can be configured and registered to the Xpanel.

Each field can be configured as follows:

Station Name: Give a name to the PLC. This name will be used in the database window accompanied by the 'Device Name’.

Station Type: Choose the 'Master-K 500/1000' (no other type can be selected).

Network ID: This field has no meaning in this driver (ignored in runtime).

Station No.: This number must be matched with the one of PLC.

Communication Cable Wiring

RS-232C

RS-422

The wiring in the terminal resistance must be 330 Ξ©. To improve the stability of communication, devices should connect through SG, using STP cables. Shielded cables must be earthed.

RS-485

The wiring in the terminal resistance must be 120 Ξ©. When using RS-485, connect SDA and SDB, but disconnect RDA and RDB. To improve the stability of communication, devices should connect through SG, using STP cables. Shielded cables must be earthed.
