Registering CIMON Canvas as a Starting Program

Users can configure CIMON Canvas to run automatically when booting up Windows. Setup methods may differ depending on the version of Windows.

For Windows 7 and above, CIMON Canvas can be placed in the [Startup] folder. For Windows 8 and above, a task for CIMON Canvas can be added in the [Task Scheduler].

Windows 7 and Above

  1. Right-click on the “CIMON Canvas.exe” icon. Click [Send to] > [Desktop (create shortcut)] on the pop-up menu.

  2. Open the [Startup] window. There are two ways to do this:

    1. Press the [Windows] + [R] keys to open the [Run] window. Enter “shell:startup” in the search field and press [OK].

    2. Open [File Explorer] and enter “Startup” in the path field, then press enter. You will be taken to the Startup folder as shown below.

  3. Drag and drop or cut and paste the shortcut icon for CIMON Canvas into the [Startup] folder.

Windows 8 and Above

  1. Open the [Control Panel] and go to [Administrative Tools] > [Task Scheduler]. Alternatively, in Windows 10, you can type “task scheduler” in the Windows search bar, then click on [Task Scheduler] in the results section.

  2. Click [Create Basic Task…] on the upper right side of the [Task Scheduler] window to open the [Create Basic Task Wizard] window.

  3. On the [Create a Basic Task] page, enter “XpanelDesigner” in the name field, then press [Next].

  4. On the [Task Trigger] page, select [When I log on] and press [Next].

  5. On the [Action] page, select [Start a program] and press [Next].

  6. Press the [Browse…] button on the right side of the [Program/Script] field and select the location of the “CIMON Canvas.exe”, then press [Next].

  7. Finish the configuration by pressing the [Finish] button.
