The user can browse their project files from the desired directory by clicking File > Open….

When the user selects a project file and clicks Open, the last-edited version of that project will be launched in CIMON Canvas. If a project was already opened, the project will automatically close.

  • Please be noted that the default project file extension may differ according to the CIMON Canvas version.

  • In Canvas versions v1.50 and above, the project extension is “.cnvs”.

Projects created on newer versions of CIMON Canvas cannot be executed on an older version of CIMON Canvas.

When the user tries to open a lower version of the project with a higher version of CIMON Canvas, the following message will appear, asking if you wish to continue the project execution.

By clicking Ok, a message will appear asking the user if they want to back up the lower version of the project folder.

The user may back up the project folder by clicking Ok. A backup path is assigned to the ‘backup_ProjectName’ folder by default. The location will be inside the original project directory. Once the project is executed in a higher version, it cannot be opened in a lower version of CIMON Canvas.

If you click Cancel, the project will be directly executed without a backup process.
