5.5.1 Settings

The Color Tool is enabled when a page is selected. The color tool window appears when you select [View] – [Color Tool]. You can choose line color and line styles for the selected basic objects. The settings of the color tool are assigned to newly created basic objects by default.

Text color is changed when color is applied to the text object from the color tool. Note that the line style is not applied to the text.

Palette

You can change the basic object’s line color. The features that can be utilized in the color palette are shown below.

Basic Color

Provides 91 standard colors. It applies the user’s selection on the line color. A color palette dialog box appears when the cell has been selected. The user can define the color through the color palette.

User-Defined Color

The Color tool allows you to define custom colors and add them to your palette. A color palette dialog box appears when the cell has been selected. Users can define the color through the color palette.

The following ‘Color’ dialog box appears when you double-click each cell.

Based on RGB color, the HSV (Hue, Saturation, Value) model can be accurately configured in the color window.

The following table explains this with instructions and examples.

 

 

Instruction

Click the object and select a color on the palette you wish to change.

When you select a color and create an object, the color is applied to the object by default.

Text color is changed when color is applied to the text object.

When you draw the object with a right mouse click, the color will be applied to the fill instead of the line. It is reversed by default.

Line Style

You can change the basic object’s line style, such as solid line, dotted line, etc. The following table demonstrates this with instructions and examples.

 

Instruction

Click the object and select a line style on the list that you want to change.

When you select a line and create an object, the style is applied to the object by default.

When you draw the object with the right-click, the color will be applied to the fill instead of the line. It is reversed by default.

Example

Preview

The preview area shows an example of the basic object with its selected color and line style.

Transparent

This feature allows a basic object to display line style. The background color is transparent. The following table demonstrates with instructions and examples.

 

Instruction

Select the object and click the [Transparent] option on the [Color Tool] to make the object transparent. When you select the option and create an object, transparency is applied to the object by default.

The background color will be returned when you deselect the transparent option for the object.
