XpanelDesigner is a software that allows users to create projects that can be downloaded to POWERTRAN’s HMI, Xpanel. You can download any version of the software from the POWERTRAN website (jkfenner.com/downloads/).
| - When you install XpanelDesigner, check for the software version compatible with your product. - A project created in a higher version cannot be executed in a lower version. - To establish a connection between your PC and HMI, you must download a separate program according to the following OS versions: - If your OS version is Windows XP, ‘ActiveSync’ is required. - If your OS version is Windows 7 and above, the ‘Windows Mobile Device Center’ is required. - You can download each program on the Microsoft website (www.microsoft.com). |
In order to use the project properly, please check if a model is compatible with the software version. Please refer to below for Xpanel models and their non-applicable versions.

Installation of XpanelDesigner |
Follow the steps below to download XpanelDesigner.
a) Go to the POWERTRAN website (jkfenner.com), and go to [Utilities] - [Downloads].
b) Browse through the product table and download the XpanelDesigner software as highlighted below. You must create an account in order to download the software.
c) To create an account, you must register an account. This window will popup when you select the ‘Download’ button for the XpanelDesigner software.
d) Once you register, you can proceed to download the software. Open the application from the ‘Downloads' folder in your ‘File Explorer’.
e) Wait until the InstallShield Wizard program is executed. This may take some time depending upon the system environment.
f) A ‘FONTSELECT’ window will appear as the installation starts. Fonts in the PC are listed on the left side of the window. You may add or ignore the selected fonts for XpanelDesigner.
| The use of illegally downloaded fonts can be subject to legal action, and POWERTRAN will not be held liable in such cases. Please make sure to look up the license of any font you wish to use in the Xpanel project. |
g) Press the [Finish] button to complete the XpanelDesigner installation.
h) Launch the XpanelDesigner application to check if the installation was successful.
