Feature Description

The Trend object lets users track data linked to it, shown through selected time intervals. It can display tag data through pens, times, and time ranges. Trends are manageable by using the control bar at the bottom of the object. This allows users to generate a CSV tag data file, select different time ranges, and pause/play visual trend activity. Each Trend object has Basic Properties, Appearance, and Transform options. This allows users to customize the content, look, and characteristics. Designer Functionalities

A Trend object can support up to 32 tags, where each created pen can be assigned one tag. Click Insert > Trend or the Insert Trend icon in the toolbar Toolbar, and click and drag on the page to bring up the create a Trend object as shown to the right:

To ensure the property windows are enabled, click View > Properties > Basic Properties, Appearance, Transform, or Actions and check the boxes.

The Basic Properties window allows changing the displayed content and formatting within the object. The Basic Properties window will show up named “YT Trend”. Any tag bound with the Trend object will appear as a new pen.

Pens control how the object tag being tracked will look on the Trend Object. The user can change the color, description, width, and pen type within this tab. A user can add a new pen by clicking on Add Pen. To bind a Tag to a Pen, there There are currently two ways to do so, one would be via Smart Binding, and the other would be manualto bind a tag to a pen: manual binding and smart binding. A tag can be bound manually attached to the pen by double-clicking the Tag field, left-clicking the chain-link icon next to the field, or dragging a tag to the Tag field. For smart binding, simply click and hold the Tag Name that needs to be bound to the Trend, and drag it over the Trend object. This will create a new Pen with the Tag as the targetClick and drag the desired tag name to the Trend for smart binding. Any tag smart-bound with the Trend will appear as a new pen with the tag bound inside the Tag field.

The Appearance pane enables the use of colors and selections to alter visible characteristics.

There are currently no applicable actions available for the Trend object. This is intended, and there are no plans to add this capability.

Runtime Functionalities

During runtime, interaction with the Trend object enables reviewing historical data and keeping up-to-date with data collection. The user has the option to can look back at past data at in a specific specified time interval, . The user can also rewind the Trend to see past data , and also jump back to the current data collection. Trends can also be paused and halt the front-end data collection, and also resume the display of data collection. The Trend object can also and pause updating the front-end display for closer observation. When concluded, the user can return to the most current data and resume updating the front-end display.

For increased visibility, the Trend object can be zoomed in and zoomed out of as well.

Trends allow the user to hide or unhide pens during runtime. Clicking on the pen will hide or unhide toggle the visibility of the line connected to it.

The user can export past Trend trend data to a CSV for record keeping. The user Users can transfer data to a USB, SD card, File Transfer Protocol (FTP), or local memory* on Windows Linux Xpanel*.

A CSV file can be created by clicking the save button within the controls of the Trend Object. Saving can only be done on a physical HMI.
