The File menu is located at the top menu bar of CIMON Canvas. The File menu includes basic essential features such as a new page, new project, save, and exit.

The contents of the File menu may change based on the object(s) or module(s) you have selected.

Allows the user to create a new page or project by clicking File > New > select Project… or Page.

Hotkey:

  • Project: [Ctrl] + [Shift] + [N]

  • Page: [Ctrl] + [N]

Open

Allows users to open an existing project by clicking File > Open… > select project file, then click Open. Please note that only project files with the *.cnvs extension can be opened.

Hotkey: [Ctrl] + [O]

Open Recent

Allows the user to open projects recently worked on by clicking File > Open Recent > select recent project file. The 16 most recently edited projects will be displayed.

Close

Allows the user to close the current Project, Page, or All Pages by clicking File > Close > select Project, Page, or All Pages to close.

Save

Click File > Save or the Save icon on the toolbar to save the project's current status. When the user saves their project, it may take a while, depending on the system’s performance and the project's size.

Save As…

Click File > Save As… or the Save As… icon shown below to save the current project in the desired location. The user can continue to work on the project after saving. The file can only be saved in “.cnvs” format, and the name cannot be duplicated with other project folders in the same path.

  • If you are naming the page in CIMON Canvas using an unsupported font style, symbols may appear instead of actual characters and could potentially cause the project to malfunction.

Description

Name

The user may change the project's name by double-left-clicking this field.

Project Password

The window below window will appear by double left-clicking the empty field or by single left-clicking the pencil icon. The user may set a password for the project with this function.

Starting Page

By left-clicking the drop-down, the user may change the starting page of the project.

Page Properties

Screen Size

By left-clicking the drop-down menu, the user may change the screen sizes for the project.

 

Default Page Width

Page width can be customized by double left-clicking the Default Page Width field.

 

Default Page Height

Page height can be customized by double left-clicking the Default Page Height field.

Default Background Color

This field dictates the color of a newly added page to the project. Changing the color field will not change pages that are already created.

Runtime Options

Beep on Touch

This field dictates whether the Xpanel will make a beeping noise upon touching the screen in runtime. Uncheck the box to disable the beep feature.

Enable Notifications

This field dictates whether the Xpanel will make the notification show in runtime. Uncheck the box to disable the notification feature.

Indicate Clickable

This field dictates whether the indication square will show around a clickable object in runtime. Uncheck the box to disable the indication feature.

Show Permissions Warning

This field dictates whether the permission warning message appears at the bottom of the Xpanel runtime screen when an unauthorized user interacts with a particular project feature in runtime. Uncheck the box to disable the beep feature.

Notification The notification feature in the Runtime Options must be enable enabled for the permission warning feature to work.

 

User Timeout

When enabled, a user can only stay logged in for a specific time based on the set time for the User Timeout feature. Uncheck the box to disable the User Timeout feature.

Audit Log Properties

Audit Log

When enabled, Audit Log will record information on occurrences in the project. Records can be shown using the Audit Log Table and exported as a *.csv file.

Uncheck the box to disable the Audit Log feature.

Database Type

Currently, the supported database for this feature is SQLite.

Retention Time (Days)

The record retention days can be customized by double left-clicking the Retention Time field.

After answering the warning prompt, the user can terminate the CIMON Canvas application. Don’t Save and Save will continue closing CIMON Canvas. Cancel will undo the exit request.
