XpanelDesigner is a software that allows users to create projects that can be downloaded to POWERTRAN’s HMI, Xpanel. You can download any version of the software on from the CIMON POWERTRAN website (www.cimonjkfenner.com/downloads/).
| - When you install XpanelDesigner, check for the software version compatible with your product. - A project created in a higher version cannot be executed in a lower version. - To establish a connection between your PC and HMI, you must download a separate program according to the following OS versions: - If your OS version is Windows XP, ‘ActiveSync’ is required. - If your OS version is Windows 7 and above, the ‘Windows Mobile Device Center’ is required. - You can download each program on the Microsoft website (www.microsoft.com). |
In order to use the project properly, please check if a model is compatible with the software version. Please refer to below for Xpanel models and their non-applicable versions.

Installation of Xpanel DesignerXpanelDesigner |
Follow the steps below to download the XpanelDesigner.
a) Go Go to the CIMON POWERTRAN website (wwwjkfenner.cimon.com), and register for an account. Make sure to be logged in before proceeding.

b) Go to [Download] on the top right > [POWEL DESIGNER] in the middle of the webpage.

c) Or navigate to [Support] at the top > Set the filter as shown below, then you can easily find the list of software. Find the Xpanel Designer version you wish to download.

d) Click the download file at the bottom of the page.

e) Execute the installer file on the directory.
...
f) Wait until the Installshield program is executed. It may take a while depending upon the system environment.

g) Read the End User License Agreement. You must accept the agreement to continue the installation. Select a button labeled ‘Accept’ and press [Next].

h) Specify the location of Xpanel Designer and press [Next] button. If you have not changed the path, software will be installed in ‘C:\CIMON\XpanelDesigner “Version”’ as default. The default path may differ depending on the version of Xpanel Designer.

Xpanel Designer 2.50 and below versions are installed in ‘C:\CIMON\Xpanel’ by default. If you install the higher version upon the lower version, the program will automatically upgrade the software version.
From Xpanel Designer 2.52 version, the software is installed in the separated path.
i) Now it is ready to install the software. Press [Install] button to begin the installation.

j) A ‘Font Select’ go to [Utilities] - [Downloads].

b) Browse through the product table and download the XpanelDesigner software as highlighted below. You must create an account in order to download the software.

c) To create an account, you must register an account. This window will popup when you select the ‘Download’ button for the XpanelDesigner software.

d) Once you register, you can proceed to download the software. Open the application from the ‘Downloads' folder in your ‘File Explorer’.
e) Select ‘I accept the terms of the license agreement’ on the License Agreement page, then click [Next].

f) Choose the Destination Location. By default, it will save to ‘C:\POWERTRAN\XpanelDesigner 2.53’.

g) Wait until the InstallShield Wizard program is executed. This may take some time depending upon the system environment.

h) A ‘FONTSELECT’ window will appear as the installation starts. Fonts in the PC are listed in on the left side of the window. You may add or except ignore the selected fonts for using in the projectXpanelDesigner.

ki) Press Press the [Finish] button to end complete the Xpanel Designer XpanelDesigner installation.

lj) Launch the Xpanel Designer Launch the XpanelDesigner application to check if the installation is successfully donewas successful.
