When you are arranging objects on a page, turning on the [Enable Snap] feature will lead your image objects to snap onto the grid. Objects may only be drawn or positioned on the grid. It can be useful when When making fine arrangements of adjustments to an object, it can be useful to disable [Enable Snap]. This will allow for control without grid snap.
You can enable or disable this feature by toggling its icon on the ‘Arrange Tool’ bar:
