Item

Description

Name

Enter the name of the page link object. The name is designated as ‘PageLink’ by default.

Page Ctrl.

Choose a method for displaying the page link object. Other settings will be turned on or off depending on the selected option.

Specified Screen Control

Allows the object to be turned On/Off within the page specified by the ‘Page Ctrl. Setting’ options. When selected, the ‘Action Setting’ configuration options will be enabled.

Specify by Tag Values

Depending on the value of the analog tag or address specified under ‘Page Select Tag’, you can dynamically change which screen is displayed during runtime.

Always Display Specified Screen

Always displays the screen specified by the number and name under ‘Page Ctrl. Setting’.

Page Ctrl. Setting

Configure settings for the displayed page.

Page Type

Select the page type to display in the page link object. You may choose ‘Normal Page’ or ‘Popup Page’.

Number

Specifies the page number to be displayed. When the ‘Page Ctrl.’ Method is set to ‘Specified Screen Control’ or ‘Always Display Specified Screen’, this page number will be displayed during Xpanel runtime. Note that you cannot use a page link object to call a page from within itself (the page displayed in a page link object cannot be the same page in which the page link object exists).

Name

Shows the name of the selected page. The page must first be selected by number; this field cannot be edited directly.

Page Select Tag

When ‘Specify by Tag Values’ is chosen, this field specifies the analog tag or address to control which number will be displayed by the page link object.

Action Setting

When ‘Specified Screen Control’ is chosen, the page link object is shown or hidden based on the specified tag value.

Action Type

A “True” (1 or greater) tag value will cause the page to be displayed.

Control Tag

A “False” (0) tag value will cause the page to be hidden.

Position Setting

Controls the coordinates of the upper left corner of the page link object relative to the graphic page.

X/Y Pos.

Sets the starting position of the page link object within the graphic page. These values will be ignored when the “Use Coordinate Control” option is used.

Use Coordinate Control

When selected, tag values will be used to directly control the x and y position of the page link object. Only available when “Specify by Tag Values” is chosen. Note: Unlike with the V-Move and H-Move functions, tag values will directly control the object coordinates, without any offset.

Page X/Y Pos.

This option is enabled when using the ‘Use Coordinate Control’ option. Each coordinate is controlled by a separate tag or address. You may only use analog tags and addresses.

Show Background

Determines whether to display the background of the target page during the runtime. If you deselect the ‘Show background’ option, the linked page’s background will be transparent, and only the shapes and objects from the target page will be shown. This option cannot be used simultaneously with the ‘Display Overlapped Objects in Reversal Colors’ option.

Page Preview Mode

This option enables a preview of the page link screen in the page editor.

Display Overlapped Objects in Reversal Colors

When two or more page links overlap, objects from the upper page link screen (based on the Arrange tool) block and cover objects from the lower page link screen. If there is a need to differentiate page link screens even when they overlap, you can use this option to indicate overlapping page links with inverted colors. Note that all objects in the page link screen will have inverted colors, and not just the portions which overlap; overlapping areas will become transparent. See the notes in the table below for more details about this feature

(blue star)

  • You may open the editor for the linked page by clicking the 'E' icon in the upper left side of the page link object.

  • You can call a page link screen within another page link screen up to 5 layers (levels) deep during the Xpanel runtime. For instance, Base 1 calls out Base 2, Base 2 calls out Base 3 and so on, up to 5 levels deep.
Example: when the configuration is set as Base 1 - Base 2 - Base 3 - Base 4 - Base 5 - Base 6 - Base 7, with Base 1 being the page calling the other pages, Base 2 becomes Level 1, Base 3 becomes Level 2 … Base 6 becomes Level 5, and Base 7 becomes Level 6. The page link screens beyond Level 5 (in this case, Base 7) will not be displayed in XpanelDesigner or the Xpanel runtime. Base 7 can be configured in the ‘Page Link’ settings but will not be rendered at runtime.

You are recommended to use the ‘Save All’ command ((blue star)) when updating page link objects with multiple layers. This ensures that the page link objects will render correctly within XpanelDesigner, but should not affect the behavior during runtime.
